Daehling Farms has been in operation serving and supporting California’s thoroughbred racing industry since the early 1980s. The ranch is owned and operated by second generation horsemen Justin and Julia Oldfield. With decades of experience, they follow in the footsteps of well-known horsemen and committed thoroughbred owner and breeder Joe Daehling who passed away in 2019.
Justin & Julia bring experience and a passion for California’s thoroughbred racing industry. With the closure of Golden Gate Fields, Justin and Julia took a strong leadership role in helping to set a new course for the future of racing in Northern California. Justin and Julia have served as strong advocates for horsemen, trainers, breeders and all those who depend on thoroughbred racing in Northern California. Justin currently chairs the Northern California Racing Affairs Advisory Committee which helps to guide the California Association of Racing Fairs and newly formed Golden State Racing to continue the strong tradition of racing in the north at Pleasanton. Justin also currently serves as the chairmen of the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association.
Together with their dedicated staff – many who have been with the farm for decades – Justin and Julia are excited to continue to serve their existing clients and welcome new customers to the farm.
We always welcome perspective clients to visit the ranch by appointment. Don’t hesitate to contact us for a tour.
